The Vertimax team has maintained the moving roof at Marvel Stadium since its construction. After many years of uninterrupted service, a need to replace the connecting slide bearing between the bogies and the roof structure arose.
As the original manufacturer of the bearings has since ceased operations, the design was re-engineered to enhance the performance and expected life of the bearing.
These works have been carried out on a rolling basis, two bearings at a time, and will continue until all 16 bearings have been replaced.
